A true family owned business

We’re a true small, family owned business. No investors, shareholders, or trust funds…just a working class husband and wife who spent their life savings, maxed out their credit cards, and refinanced a couple of old cars for a $14,000 loan and in 2014 we went all in on opening a distillery.

In 2021 we sold our house and moved to a 1BR apartment to pay off the business debts we accumulated. We could have taken the payment savings and bought an exotic car, but instead we gave it to our employees in the form of great healthcare benefits.

Every full-time Skaalvenn employee has the option of our platinum level ZERO DEDUCTIBLE healthcare plan. It costs the company a small fortune, but our employees don’t have to worry about medical bills.
